hi! i’m so glad you’re here.
Emery is a Philadelphia born, New York City and Edinburgh-based playwright and lifelong theatre nerd (see above on the right). After a childhood of writing comprehensive storylines for her Barbie dolls, she decided to make it her life’s work.
Emery’s play We Used To Be Girl Scouts (directed by Kate Stamoulis and produced by Hey, Thanks Theatre Co) received enormous praise during its 2024 Edinburgh Fringe run, including a 4-star review from The Scotsman. Her play Rachel was longlisted for A Play, A Pie, And A Pint’s 2024 David MacLennan New Play Award. She was recently under commission by F-Bomb Theatre Co. for their May 2025 production MONUMENTAL, a sight-specific theatrical walking tour highlighting the silent heroines of Edinburgh which received multiple rave reviews (see here, here, and here). She also has a new work titled Good For You premiering in the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. While studying at the University of St Andrews, she received a critics choice audience choice recipient for her short play, 80 Percent (Theatre of Diversion’s Theatre, Lime, and Salt), as well as a Mermaids Performing Arts Bursary award for her historical play I Hope It All Burns.
In her New York days, Emery’s work could be found at The Tank NYC, Shakespeare On The Sound, the Long Island City One Act Festival, UCB, Brunch Theatre, and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, her alma mater.
BFA: NYU Tisch Experimental Theatre Wing. MFA: University of St. Andrews, mentored by Oliver Emanuel and Zinnie Harris
