Emery is a Philadelphia born, New York City and Edinburgh-based playwright. After a childhood of writing comprehensive storylines for her Barbie dolls, she decided to make it her life’s work.
She is the critics choice and audience choice recipient for her play, 80 Percent (Theatre of Diversion’s Theatre, Lime, and Salt). Her play I Hope It All Burns was chosen as part of Moot Point Collective (Edinburgh) spring season in collaboration with Mermaids Performing Arts Fund (University of St Andrews). Emery’s work has been performed at The Tank NYC, Shakespeare On The Sound, the Long Island City One Act Festival, UCB, Brunch Theatre, NYU Tisch, Rule of 7x7 @ The Tank, and Page2Stage Edinburgh. Emery’s play We Used To Be Girl Scouts (directed by Kate Stamoulis and produced by Hey, Thanks Theatre Co) received enormous praise during its 2024 Edinburgh Fringe run, including a 4-star review from The Scotsman. Her play Rachel was longlisted for A Play, A Pie, And A Pint’s 2024 David MacLennan New Play Award. She was recently under commission by F-Bomb Theatre Co. for their May 2025 production of MONUMENTAL, a sight-specific theatrical walking tour highlighting the silent heroines of Edinburgh.
